SPAY/NEUTER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
(SNAP)
SNAP is a program funded by the United Way of Green County and provides
financial assistance to Green County residents to help offset the costs associated with
spaying or neutering animals. All Green County pet owners requesting assistance to
spay/neuter their pet(s) will be required to show a financial need and complete an
application for SNAP funds. Applications are approved by the Executive Director. Pet owners are required to pay
any balance over the authorized voucher limit.
Procedures:
· Eligibility for SNAP assistance is determined by an application process. An
application must be completed detailing the number of animals requiring alteration, number of
people in the household and monthly household
income.
· Each family is eligible to apply for assistance for up to 2 (two) animals
each year.
· Participants requesting assistance must reside in Green
County.
· Vouchers may be redeemed using a local veterinarian or clinic. Vouchers will
be used for spay/neutering services only. A statement from the vet/clinic with the SNAP voucher
must be returned to GCHS for payment. Individuals are responsible for any other services and/or
balance due that exceeds the voucher.
· SNAP applications are kept on file for up to 1 (one) year. Vouchers must be
used within 60 days from the issue date. If
vouchers are not used within the designated time frame, the vouchers become
void.
